Oral and poster presentation at the 33rd Annual Meeting of ESMAC in Oslo

From September 11 to 14, 2023, the 33rd Annual Meeting of the European Society of Movement Analysis for Adults and Children (ESMAC) took place in Oslo. This international congress focuses on the latest research findings and developments in the field of movement sciences.

At the congress, Klaus Widhalm presented results from the SETT research project in a scientific lecture. His talk addressed various forms of lunges and the possibility of categorizing them based on the frontal knee angle (presentation, abstract). Additionally, Harald Penasso introduced a newly developed parameter during a poster session, which enables an optimized representation of lower limb axis control (poster, abstract).

In addition to the scientific contributions, the conference, which gathered over 400 participants, provided an excellent opportunity to establish new connections. Researchers from numerous European universities and institutions engaged in intensive discussions and networking on current topics in movement analysis.

Prior to the congress, a workshop on musculoskeletal simulation of human movement was held, offering further insights into advanced methods of movement analysis.

A special honor was bestowed upon FH Campus Wien: it was officially announced that the 2027 ESMAC Annual Meeting will be hosted by FH Campus Wien. This recognition highlights the significant scientific work of our institution.

Best regards,
The SETT Team
