Development of homeSETT: a new tool for medical training therapy at home

The development of the homeSETT prototype marks a significant milestone in our project. This system combines current technology with practicality for home use, offering patients an additional means of support during their rehabilitation processes.

The centerpiece of homeSETT is a SBC Rock 5b by Radxa, a single-board computer chosen for its processing power and connectivity to various output devices. It can be connected to monitors and TVs via HDMI, supporting resolutions up to 4K, which allows for flexible use in different environments.

A key component of the system is the Intel Realsense D435i depth contrast camera, used for recording motion data. The camera’s precision in capturing depth information is crucial for the analysis and adjustment of exercises.

For data evaluation, the MoveNet pose estimation model is used, which extracts anatomical points from the captured images. These points are linked with the depth data to generate accurate 3D position data. This information is fundamental for creating feedback visualizations that guide users through their training therapy.

By integrating the SBC Rock 5b, Intel Realsense D435i depth contrast camera, and MoveNet pose estimation model, homeSETT becomes an effective tool for individuals wishing to support their health and rehabilitation. These technologies improve the execution and accessibility of medical training therapy for users at home.

The introduction of homeSETT contributes to the advancement of medical training therapy. This system aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of therapy for users, supporting their health promotion and rehabilitation.
